Overseeding St. Augustine Floritam with Argentine Bahia

If I over seed my St. Augustine with Bahia and treat it with Bahia products will the St. Augustine eventually die off?????

Most likely the St Augustine will over take almost anything but sand spurs. I had built a new house in Palm Bay and checkered board it with St Augustine and in less than a year I had a full lawn.

I think you misunderstood my post Pugs1.....

I now have a St. Augustine lawn and would prefer a Bahia lawn. My intent is to over seed my existing St. Augustine lawn with Bahia seed.

I want to know if the existing St. Augustine lawn will eventually be choked out by the Bahia, leaving just Bahia.

I'm trying to avoid the cost and labor of killing the ST. Augustine then stripping it and either installing Bahia seed or sod.
