Leviton 6227-A DHC Split Duplex Receptacle

Hello,

I have this outlet installed in one of the rooms in my house that I recently purchased. Can anyone shed some light exactly what kind of outlet it is and how it works?

It's considered a smart receptacle. The bottom half is always live. The top is switched by remote command.

It works within the X-10 system. One of those turn switches sets a house code and the other sets a device code. There would have to be an X-10 controller in the house to run it.

Hi PjMax,

Thanks for the quick response. Do you have any info or links that I could see what an X-10 controller looks like? Or any ideas what I should look for around the house. If Iam unable to locate a controller am I just better off to remove it and replace it with a regular receptacle.

Thanks again

You can do a search for X-10.

Here's an example of a transmitter.... www.x10.com/pmc0b.html

While there..... click on "X-10 basics".
