Bosch dishwasher is not washing- no water

Man, not a good week. I gotta another thread going regarding my fridge, but now it's my dishwasher. It's a Bosh SHX33A05UC/21. I hear humming, somethings working, but there is no water. When I manually pour water into it, it will drain, but no water.

From my research, it could be the water inlet valve or the float switch. Is there anything else you guys can think of? How should I start my process of elimination? Thank you.

You are correct. It could be the valve or the float.

Do you have a meter ?

We'll use the upside down horseshoe at the 3:00 position... that's the ohms/continuity setting. When you touch the probes together the meter will read close to 0 ohms which is a dead short.

This is not an easy machine to work on.

Click on the link and then select "pump assy"

Here's an exploded view. Click on it for expanded view.

In the diagram.... part 0433is the fill valve assy. It should have a two wire plug on it. Remove the plug and using your meter probe the two contacts. If you get any reading... the valve is electrically ok.

Part 0425 is the fill switch. It's a little tine switch with a two wire plug. The switch is located inside the filling chamber. Same test here. Remove the plug and probing the switch should measure close to 0 ohms.

PJMAX, thanks for your help! It turned out to be the water inlet valve. I had planned to return the part, and then try the float switch if it didn't work out, but luckily it worked, and I mean lucky because as I was removing the elbow from the old valve, I broke the solenoid. So regardless, that new part wasn't going to be returned. LOL!
