rv insurance
I have a Class C motorhome that I don't use very often but I don't want to sell it. I don't like the idea of paying for RV insurance for the whole year since most of the time it just sits in my driveway. Is there a company who will insure the vehicle only for each time I use it?

I seriously doubt it. Keep in mind, you are responsible for that RV ALL THE TIME, not just when it is on the road. So, when it pops out of gear and rolls out of your driveway and backs over a kid, you are on the hook. Also, whenever someone opens the door to take a look inside, or sits on the bumper to tie their shoe, you are on the hook for any injuries they my incur.
I don't know what the law says in PA, but in KY, you are required by law to insure any motor vehicle that is titled in your name, regardless of whether you put it on the road or it sits in your living room 365 days a year.

Question
Did you ever find anyone that would insure your rv for only the trips you took and not the entire year? I take one trip to the next state once a year and that is it, I find it pretty awful to pay $400 in insurance just for that one trip

Well, a friend of mine in the Navy just contacted his agent and "suspended" all coverage normally needed for driving, but kept fire, theft, etc whenever he was deployed on a ship. They were about 8 months at a whack back then, so he paid full coverage for 4 months and reduced for 8 months. He couldn't just cancel since he would then be in a higher paying group by not have insurance for 8 months. So I guess he kept the comprehensive(?) but suspended collision and liability?

A simple search for "partial year rv insurance" turned up several links, including this one at the top of Page 1: http://www.gmac123.com/rv-insurance/...nce-faqs.asp#3
Did you even ask your insurer what they have to meet your needs? Ask them specifically about a "storage option."
