Looking at pre-finished hardwood flooring. Need some tips
Most of my home has 3/4" oak flooring with a poly finish. The bedrooms have carpet. I now want to add hardwood to these rooms but do not want to go through the pain and smells of the original.
I really know nothing about the pre-finished flooring accept that price varies wildly. I know there is engineered and locking planks but don't know the pros and cons of each type.
Hoping someone here can at least guide me away from the crappy stuff. Also, I need to be able to match the height of the hall flooring (3/4" oak) and not sure if I can find a combination of underlayment thickness to even it up.
Thanks,
Rut

One of the best is Mirage, NOT cheap, but comes with a 25 yr warranty. Available in everything from engineered to full 3/4 natural wood, in a variety of colors. Glue down, nail down, etc. There are other brands and some are good, some are cheap. Rush Limbaugh like Lumber Liquidators, not sure i agree. Avoid big box stores.
