Sanding kitchen cabinet doors - Time Consuming
I have a project to redo all my cabinet doors in my kitchen. I am using a 1/3 sheet sander and it is working ok to sand down some the paint so I can repain the doors but it is very time consuming.
Any ideas of a faster way to do this or am I doing it as fast as can be?
Thanks

Just curious, but are they in that bad condition that they need to be sanded down so thoroughly? You mentioned that you are repainting them. If it's oil paint now and you are intending to apply latex, you could just apply primer first then paint.
Sanding is time consuming for sure though. What grit sand paper are you using?

If the sanding is too slow, you can switch to a coarser grit sanpaper but you still need to use a finer grit for the final sanding.

Thanks for the help.
The doors were painted with a latex but not very well. So I am just trying to smooth them not necessarily strip them to the wood.
I am using a 1/3 sheet sander with about 120 grit I think (not there right now). It works pretty well but about 20 doors back and front it is just time consuming.
My friend tried to talk me into using paint stripper on them, I guess he is still trying to get me back for a joke I played on him. I didn't bite on that one.
Well I guess I'll just keep sanding.
Thanks

Latex paints like to "melt" from the heat generated from the sanding process. This tends to gum up the sandpaper - so change it out often
