blackberry plants

About one month ago I planted 3 natchez thornless blackberry plants and 3
prime-ark primocane blackberry plants that I bought as seedlings. Right now they are about 3 to 4 inches in height. What do I do if anything about getting them ready for the winter months? I live in Pennsylvania near Philadelphia.

We always protect younger plants with wheat straw and burlap. You will find propagating the thornless will be easy. Once they get a little length on them, bend it over and place a rock on the middle of the stem. The plant will take root at that point and continue to grow on the exposed end.
