Would you trust a cheap switch on your receiver ?

I doubt walmart even has speaker switches. You'd probably be better off checking at radio shack.

I have a 15 watt per channel Sony tuner with 6 inch speakers. And I have a set of 5 watt mini 3 inch RCA speakers in another room. Given the small watt draw could I just bundle them together
and cram them onto 1 set of spring clips??

The speaker wattage is the power they can handle before you blow them - not the amount of power they draw.

If you add the speakers as you mention, you change the ohms. If your tuner is made for 8 ohms, and you parallel two speakers, the tuner will see only 4 ohms.

If you wire them in series, the tuner will see 16 ohms. It may work either way but is not optimal.

Any double pole, double throw switch will do what you want. This is not house wiring or a commercial sound set up.
