Amana Oven Door wont Close all the Way
Well, I have an Amana AOCS3040 convection oven. And my wife (bless her heart) tethered the DOG to the oven door handle the other day. Now it won't close all the way as evidenced by the light staying on. There is probably a 1/2 - 3/4 inch gap now. What do I need to look at? Or should I just pay Amana the $80 to fix it.

scottdholland, Welcome to the DIY Forums.
Not an expert here but have you looked to see if the dog may have pulled the door open and the door moved up off the connectors that secure it to the oven? Some I have seen allow you to remove the door by pulling it up and the hinges remain on/in the stove. Just a thought. Good luck.

Oven Door
I don't think it is just pulled up. It appears to be onthe hinges ok and operates normally with the exception that it just wont close completely. It is as if the springs which are supposed to pull it shut are stretched or disconnected. ? It comes within 1/2 - 3/4 inch of closing.

I am sure one of our experts can tell you how to fix this. Watch the thread for more answers.

Hi scottdholland,
- I think Majakgragon was right with his suggestion. Try pulling the door completely off, then re-locating it with a bit of force.
Do it Right - Do it once.
