Biography:: I've been handy with tools since I was in primary school and middle school. Even though I'm a girl I still was able to pay attention to my Dad and grandfather (mom's dad). The work shop that my grandfather had in his basement was a source of inspiration and un the summer the simple projects (a box) were fun to make. Mainly the project gave me a chance to be around without getting hirt but still seeing the tools and learning about each name and what they were for. My dad was a truck driver and had mechanical tools. He took the family on Sunday evenings for a drive to where the truck was parked and we'd sit in the idllying car drinking a hot chocolate. He also thought that it was a good idea to show me how to do little things around the house. He'd say where's north or how does the outside faucet get turned off indoors? Simple tasks that made it easier to know how to manage a household. So, jump forward to my first car (my mom's hand me down that I bought from her for $500) where I frequently had to find cheap soluntions for mechanical problems with my car. As a student I would turn to WD40, or a can of "inflate a tire" to plug a hole in a tire at least until I got the funds to buy a new one. Yep, I'm a veritable wonder woman. The bug for DIY caught fire when I started my MS Stewart subscription. These days I've turned my energy to knitting, well, I try & keep it to just one hobby. :-)
