Replacing Door Weatherstripping - Subaru Forester

Is replacing a car door's weatherstripping a diy project? Or is it best left to a mechanic? The weatherstripping on my car is stretched out of shape and the clips won't hold it any more.

Typ the weatherstiping is held in place with clips, screws and fir trees.

Relatively easy but I suggest getting some trim removal tools that will help remove the clips without scratching up the paint.

I'm not sure exactly what the weatherstripping looks like on your forester, I have a 2017. If its not stretched too much I'd try to glue it in place if possible but I think full replacement could be diy.

If the weatherstripping will go back in place [not deformed where it's no longer functional] I like to use 3M's weatherstrip adhesive. It sticks well so try and be neat and/or have a solvent handy to clean up with.
