Adding Or checking Trans fluid help needed on 2004 Sunfire 2.4 automatic.
Does anyone know where the add trans fluid plug is on my 2002 Sunfire automatic with 2.4 motor.
This car comes with no traditional dipstick. The owners manual says something like "if you see a trans leak, get it serviced"
There is a small pool of either trans fluid or pwr steer fluid on the garage floor.
My pwr steer fluid was down just a 1/4" from full & I added & will keep an eye on that.
But I have no way to check trans fluid level.
I was under the car & can see a small amt of maybe trans fluid collecting on a bolt that is where you can see in & see the flywheel, so maybe a main seal? (my pan is dry no leaks there)
On the front of the trans cast body, under where the hoses that run to the trans cooler in the radiator) there is a small maybe 3/8" pipe thread plug with a hex head.
could that be the fill hole.
Other than car level, fill till runs out, is there a checking procedure?
thanks to anyone that knows.

hope this helps
There is a plug located in the side of the transaxle if you can feel the fluid right at the level or a little comes out then it is at the right level, much below this then add some fluid. a lot of cars leak a little bit of oil. and a little bit of oil goes a long way

Thanks retlaw,
Can you tell me exactly where that plug is?
I've been looking all over under the car, & nothing is jumping out at me.
Is it drivers side, rear or which?
how big is it?
The only plugs I see are in holes that my pinkie finger couldn't fit in.
