    questio side view mirror 2001 pt

    after all these years just noticed on my side view mirrows, small defroster icon- cked with friend who has a pt also and they do not have the icon, so what's up any clues

    I would assume yours have an optional defroster system ("heated") installed and the friends don't. I'm not familiar with it, but maybe a fellow PT owner will ring in.
    Measure it with a micrometer; cut it with an ax.

    Did you buy it new? If not it's possible the mirror were replaced if you don't have the control for heated mirrors.

    Is it the last model year they were produced? Again, if you don't have the switch, they do some weird things when they close down a line. Whatever parts they have left go on the car.

    Side mirror heater may go on when rear window defroster is engaged. Try it and see if they warm up.
