Wall fix - not spackle but what?
Hi there,
Removed built in wood shoe rack from closet. Now the wall needs patching. Not a big mess but need to even out thye wall. What do I use?

Do you have drywall? or plaster?
Joint compound can be used for either although it will dry a little softer than plaster.
A pic or two can help us give you finishing tips.... if you need it.

If your walls are drywall, you'd want joint compound.
As Mark said, you could use joint compound on plaster as well but a setting compound might be a better choice.
