SSI and Dependent support
My son who has been a long time SSI beneficiary, appears to moving in with my wife, and myself. We both are retired and on S.S.
I know his SSI benefits are non-taxable, but will i be able to claim him as a dependent on my income taxes?

I think that is spelled out pretty well in the Code. Pretty sure you'd have to provide at least 50% of his support. Also depends on age.....if he's over 18/21...very unlikely. Might be some issue on the reason for the disability?
Actually, a search for the term "who can be claimed as a dependent for tax purposes?" and "qualifying child" gets lots of info. A "qualifying relative" is constrained by their gross income.
For a child they can be any age as long as they are 100% and permanently disabled. There may be other issues with the benefits he receives.Vic
