Hunter T-Stat question
Hey DIY Helpers......I resently replaced our old Hunter programable T-stat with a newer model Hunter. The old T-stat had an optional feature called "auto-recovery". This feature does as follows....instead of turning the furnace on at a pre-programed time & temp....say...4:00PM and heat to 70 degrees....it will actually turn the furnace on sooner so the pre-programed temp will be reached by the desired time....4:00PM. As stated, this was an option you could turn off and on by a switch located on the back of the unit. This new Hunter T-stat seems to do this on it's own. So my question is this.....Does anyone know if the newer Hunter T-stats have this built in as a normal feature that can't be turned off? Or did we get a Bogus Hairy T-stat out of the package ?
Thanks

Hunter makes nice fans, but not so nice thermostats..........
having said that, what model is your new thermostat?
it is what it is

Thanks....the model is a 44377. Our last Hunter T-stat I just replaced is going on 8 years old and still worked fine. I just replaced it after the furnace went on the blink hopeing i'd get lucky. But to no avail...furnace shot craps...LOL. Anyway, with that being said, i'm not sure if the quality of any individual brand is the issue. I'm just looking for anyone who may be able to tell me if the "auto recovery" feature is now something standard with Hunter T-stats and can not be turned off ? Thanks again for any info.

Your manual says nothing about it. That thermostat seems overly complicated to use, IMO.
You may want to call the 800 number in the back of your manual to find the information you would like to know.
it is what it is

I will give you a "BIG 10-4" on the manual being complicated...LOL. The darn thing almost had me in the tubb slitting my wrists. But I finally figured it out. The package stated "installs in 5 minutes"....they should have put an astrak next explaining that you may have to use 3 weeks vacation though figuring out how to program it. Heck.....you can't even install it in 5 minutes unless the mounting holes already line up with your old anchors...not likely. They give you those junk dry wall screws that you just screw in....and they expect them to hold...LOL. Anyway, I guess i'll try the 800 number....or just program it to come on 30 minutes later than I want. Thanks again
