Honeywell RTH2300B is showing the wrong temp
Hello,
I got this termostat working thanks to Houston204. Here is the new problem, the temperature that the stat is showing is hotter than it actually is. Which causes the A/C to run until I turn it off. It was just showing 89 degrees when it's more like 70 in here.
It does feel a little warm to the touch. Any ideas what I might do or what I've done wrong? The new stat came with a little piece of wire jumping R and RC, and then I added another between Y and W/AUX.

You want power on the R terminals.
Since you only have 2 wires coming from the air handler, you might swap them.

I have white (power) wire going into the R and a jumper from R to RC. The black wire is going into W/Aux and then that is jumped to Y.
Could it have anything to do with voltage? The HVAC person that came in said that I needed a 24v stat, and when I hooked that up, it didn't do anything.
Here's an image of the wiring:

Those look like high voltage wires. Are you sure he didn't say that you need a high voltage stat?
Do you have a meter?

He did say I needed a 120 v
The guy did say that I needed a 120v stat. I don't have a meter, but I think I should probably get one.
I did try one 120v from Home Depot, but it didn't seem to work. I don't remember which one it was. I'll try another one though.
