Vinyl plank or sheet for uneven basement?

About to redo 800 sq. ft. of the basement flooring. Currently has a 5+ layers of Bona high traffic sealer (that is peeling) over stained concrete. I'm looking at floating vinyl planks, but there is one part of the floor that is uneven. Whoever tried to patch it did not do that great of a job either, so it is wavy. I'm worried the planks will not not fit properly in that area.

So, I'm also looking at vinyl sheet flooring. I know you'll still see the wave, but I won't have to worry about planks being uneven.

Basement has a woodstove that is the main heating source, so carpet is out.

Of course we can't see what you see, but it may be possible to lay in self leveling compound to take the waviness out. Then the vinyl planks would lay flat. I am assuming you are talking about a product like Allure. Good flooring. Make it flat and it will work.

Is it possible to lay the compound over sealer? The section that is uneven is 6ft wide by 1ft deep and in a doorway. I have never used it, but do know of someone who has.
