water filtration questions

First, what's the best shower head filter to remove chlorine and by product thm's?

Also, is there a sink faucet filter which can remove those things and allow hot water through it? If not, is there a way to prevent hot water from accidentally coming through it? With kids, they aren't always careful and would likely have hot water running through it unless there was a system that automatically bypasses filter when hot water is turned on...

There really is no way to add a shower head that does the two things you have inquired.

Chlorine removal requires a carbon filter which is a large in-line or whole house filter.

The hot water safety you mention is handled by the newer shower mixer valves that have internal valves that limit direct hot water.

One way to prevent children from being harmed by hot water without changing faucets is to simply lower the temperature on your water heater thermostat.
