Switch does not appear to be getting power
Here it is, 10 o'clock at night and I have no water...
Drain trickled a bit when I went to get a glass of water and upon further inspection, I noticed holding tank had no water in it
First thought is that switch needed points sanded again so I grabbed the ol' wifey's emery board and had a good ol' time...
It is important (or at least I think it is) to note that the contacts are staying closed but nothing is happening. I manually opened and shut them and saw faint sparking but not what I have seen in past. Since Home Depot closed at 9 and it was 8:35 (and I live 20 minutes from HD), I hurriedly rushed and bought a new switch - replaced it - same thing.
Thinking maybe breaker had an issue because now I am getting NO spark or even a hint of life from points, I switched out breaker with the one from the wifey's clothes dryer. Nothing wrong with fuse...
So it seems that I am not getting power through the points in the pressure switch - any idea on what it could be?

Do you have a voltage tester? Did you check to see if power was getting to the pressure switch? If you replaced the pressure switch with a new one I assume it is OK. I doubt the breaker was bad but if you tried the pump circuit with a different breaker and there was no change I also assume that the breaker was OK.
Since you never mention looking at your pump I assume it's a submerged one down in the well. If you got a voltmeter or electrical tester I bet you will find that power is getting to and leaving the switch. It just has nowhere to go. I think you might have a broken wire leading to the pump or a bad pump. The next step is to go to your well head and check to see if power is getting there. If you have power there than the wire between the pressure switch and well is OK meaning the problem is with something down the well, either the wire or the pump.

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, I do not have a voltage tester anymore. I also have a full day today so I have little choice at this point but to call someone to look at it and hope it is fixed by time I get home...
Thanks again.
