2 Things to Check When Your Osmosis Water Filter That Wont't Stop Running
If you find that your reverse osmosis water filter won't stop running, you want to fix it immediately. Not only does this signal a problem for the actual filter, it also means you're paying for water and energy you don't need. Here are two situations you'll want to check if you find yourself in this situation.
1. Programing Problems
If you have your osmosis filter programed or set so that it goes through the cycles at a certain time each day, you may have had a problem setting it. Unplug it, then plug it back in again. Begin over, setting it with the help of your manual. Make sure that you are either consulting the manual or are calling a professional for advice, you should not be just switching dials to different positions randomly until you get a result. This will make the problem of the running filter much worse.
2. Valve Problem
Another key problem if the filter won't stop running is the valve. Be sure that you check the manual to see what position the valve should be in. Adjust the valve accordingly. Many times the bypass valve just needs to be closed and then opened again, and this will smooth out the problems.
