3 Simple Deep Fryer Recipes

There are several deep fryer recipes that anyone can manage. Deep fried food is comforting, but it doesn’t need to be unhealthy. Most of these just require light frying, and if you use safflower oil you won’t be increasing your cholesterol.

Banana Fritters 

Try this excellent variation on deep fried dishes with this tempting recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sifted flour
  • 2 teaspoons double acting baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons melted shortening
  • Bananas 

Step 1 - Preparation

Start by sifting together all the dry ingredients. After the, mix together the egg, milk, and melted shortening. Add the liquid ingredients to the dry ingredients to make a batter and mix until it’s smooth.

Step 2 - Bananas

Peel 3 bananas and cut each one into 4 diagonal pieces. Roll in flour until each piece is coated and the dip into the batter until each piece is thoroughly coated.

Step 3 - Frying

Heat the oil in the deep fryer until it reaches 190 degrees Centigrade. For the deep fryer recipe, put the banana into the oil and let it cook for around 6 minutes, turning regularly. Once the fritters are golden brown, remove and drain, then serve hot with syrup.

Fried Chicken 

Fried chicken as grown to be a popular take away dish over the last 30 years but making your own deep-fried recipe is a relatively simple task and can be every bit as enjoyable.

Ingredients

  • 1 jointed frying chicken
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4teaspoon pepper
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salad oil 

Step 1 - Preparation

Wash and pat the chicken dry, then roll in 1/2 cup of the flour. Prepare the dry ingredients by sifting together. After this, mix the oil, eggs and milk in a blender, then add the dry ingredients, mixing to form a batter.

Step 2 - Batter

Dip the pieces of chicken in the batter, making sure each piece is evenly coated. Put in the deep fryer, allowing the chicken to cook in the deeper fryer until the coating turns a deep golden brown. Remove and pat dry then serve. This will make delicious fried chicken.

French Fries

Everyone loves French fries, and they’re easy to make from scratch, one of the simplest deep fryer recipes. The secret is not to overcook them. 

Ingredients

  • Potatoes
  • Sprinkling of salt 

Step 1 - Preparation

Use good sized potatoes with a firm texture. Wash them and peel them, being careful not to remove anything more than the skin. Cut each potato into piece about 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch and 4 inches long. Pat dry with paper towels-dry potatoes will make much better French fries.

Step 2 - Cooking

Don’t put all the cut potatoes in the deep fryer at once. They’ll cook more evenly if you don’t crowd them. If you’re making a big serving of fries, cook them in batches with the oil at 190 degrees Centigrade. Cook until golden brown, turning the potatoes in the fryer and until they’re floating and bobbing. Remove and place on several paper towels, and blot with more paper towels before serving. Sprinkle with salt then place on the table.
