4 Signs of a Faulty Wireless LAN Card
A wireless LAN card enables your computer to connect to the Internet. A faulty card will display connection problems or will not connect at all.
1 - Loss of Internet Connection while Working on the Computer
Inspect your cable, modem and router before you troubleshoot your LAN card. There are a variety of cable box issues that could cause connection problems. Be sure they are all operating properly.
2 - No Internet Connection when Computer is Turned on
When you restart your computer, there should be no connections with your LAN card. If it does not connect when it is restarted, your card is not operating properly. You most likely have a technical problem between the LAN card and computer synchronization.
3 - No LAN Driver Icon Displayed
Locate the Device Manager in your Control Panel. Locate the Network Adapters in the Device Manager. Check the list for any yellow or red icons. These icons indicate that you may have an issue with your drivers. If there is no icon, than your issue is with your LAN card.
4 - Replacement LAN Card Operates Properly
Replace the faulty card with one of the same make and model. If you are able to connect you know for certain that the other card was faulty. If the new card is not working, you will have to take your computer in for servicing.
