4 Stroke vs. 6 Stroke Weed Eaters

by DoItYourself Staff

There are many similarities when it comes to both 4 stroke and 6 stroke weed eaters. There are though, a few distinct differences which could sway your decision into buying one or the other. Here is a little information to help you choose which is best for you.

Efficiency

The 4 stroke weed eater works great and can be used in the same fashion as the 6 stroke however there are slight differences in power. The 6 stroke weed eater carries a little bit more power and force behind it while you are working. If you have a tougher job then this may be the right one for you.

Environmentally Friendly

One of the biggest differences between the 4 and 6 stroke weed eaters is that while they work almost the same way, the 6 stroke will help to reduce any emissions that the 4 stroke just cannot. This model uses steam or air to help with the additional stroke power which also leads to a cleaner job. For those that are more environmentally conscious you may want to consider moving up to the 6 stroke for your next weed eating project.

The bottom line is that you need to decide with this information which is best for your lifestyle.
