4 Things to Consider When Removing Wine Stains with Hydrogen Peroxide
Wine stains, especially red wine stains, can be extremely difficult to remove. Even after washing, using all the right products, you will still find a slightly off colored stain on the garment. Red wine is better removed when it has freshly occurred and taking the proper steps can help the stain to completely vanish.
1 – Using Hydrogen Peroxide
Firstly, do not use it pure. Mix it with a gentle dish detergent which is preferably non-alkali and without bleach. Mix two parts of the Hydrogen peroxide with one part dish soap liquid.
2 – Watch Bleed Through
Always put a thick towel underneath the stained side so that you do not cause the stain or any liquid to ruin the back side of the garment.
3 – Don’t Scrub
Blot, don’t scrub. When you have applied the solution to the stained garment allow it a few second to soak in and dab the area with a lint free and dry cloth.
4 – Sponging
Sponge the hydrogen peroxide solution away from the garment and dab it clear of left over solution. Wet the sponge and wring it out and then dab again, being careful not to leave too much excess water on the garment. Wash the garment in a cool wash to clear the residue away.
