4 Tips for an Efficient Bathroom Layout

by DoItYourself Staff

Ensure that your bathroom layout boasts the highest levels of practicality, originality and design flair using these quick and simple tips.

1. Maximum Access

The most important feature of bathroom design is high practicality - meaning that each of its features should be of a distance apart that makes them easy to access and pleasant to use. If your design will be used by more than one person at once, you must take counter space into account.

2. Positioning the Bath

As one of the largest components your bathroom layout may incorporate, the bath is best positioned alongside a short wall. This will take up less space than if you ran the bath along one of the longer walls.

3. Toilet or Not?

As the bathroom is often one of the smallest rooms in the house, yet also one of the busiest - it may be an idea to have a separate room for your toilet. This will open up gratuitous space for storage facilities or more counter space.

4. Adults Only?

If your bathroom will be exclusively for adults, use shorter towel rails and position them higher up to create space. If your children will be using it, consider a much taller towel rail to accommodate people of all sizes.
