Buying from carpet wholesalers is not as easy a task as one would think. By purchasing directly from the manufacturer, a buyer often needs an open account with the mill.
What to Ask
Here are some questions that you should ask to ensure that you are in fact buying good carpet from a wholesaler.
- Does the price of the carpet include padding and installation? If not how much extra are these?
- What is the warranty on the carpet? Does this include the padding and/or installation?
- Can I borrow samples of different carpets to take home to compare?
- Is there a charge for removing the old carpeting? Is there a charge for any furniture moving during installation?
- Does the price include any stripping at thresholds? Does the price include the wrapping of any stairs?
Be sure to ask these to ensure that you pay a fair price and are not charged for any extras without your knowledge. Buying directly from a carpet wholesaler is often an affordable option when purchasing carpeting for your home but as always, do your research and be sure that you have any and all questions answered before signing on the dotted line.
