Marmoleum Click is a beautiful and versatile flooring that looks great in any room in the house. It is made of linoleum, and it snaps together just like a laminate floor. Follow the simple steps below to install Marmoleum Click flooring.

Step 1 - Measure the Room

To begin, measure the room where you plan to install the flooring. Measure the length and the width of the room, and multiply the two numbers together to get the square footage. Once you have this number, add 10 percent to the figure to get the total amount of footage that you should purchase. This excess material is in case of breaks, mistakes, waste pieces, or for replacement later.

Step 2 - Prepare For Installation

Place the boxes of Marmoleum Click flooring at least three days before installation will take place. This will allow the Marmoleum to acclimate to the temperature and humidity in the room. If you do not take this step, the boards could buckle after they are installed. Set the room temperature to least 68 degrees Fahrenheit.

Also, make sure that the subfloor is firm and level. If it is not, use self-leveling compound to level out the sub-floor before installation.

Step 3 - Install Vapor Barrier

If you are on a concrete subfloor, you will need to install a vapor barrier before you can start the installation. You can use a visqueen vapor barrier that comes in rolls. Unroll the material and cover the entire floor with it. Attach it to the concrete with tape, and then run the vapor barrier up the walls at least two inches in every direction.

Step 4 - Install the Underlayment

Once the vapor barrier is in place, you need to install the foam underlayment. This will come in rolls and is easy to install. Simply unroll it and lay it on the floor. Tape it together at the seams and cut it with a knife to fit.

Step 5 - Start Installing

Once the pad is in place, you can start installing the Marmoleum Click flooring. Cut off the tongue from the wall end of a board and place it in the corner of the room. Then cut off the long tongue on the rest of the boards that make up that row. Press a board into the short groove on the narrow side and it should click together.

Step 6 - Making Cuts

When you get to the end of a row, you will need to cut the last plank to fit. Use the saw to cut the Marmoleum at the appropriate size.

Step 7 - Additional Rows

Start next to the first row and click a new board into place. It works best if you are placing the tongue into a groove that is already in place. Continue installing boards like this until the entire floor is covered. Be sure to stagger seams as your work to offer a secure attachment and visual appeal.
