Above Ground Pool Heaters
If you've been shopping for above ground pool heaters for your home swimming pool, understanding the function and design of this type of heater will help you make the best choice.
Design
Most above ground pool heaters are fairly simple in design and produce their warmth via a heating pump. The typical above ground pool heater is made up of a fan, a heat exchange condenser, an electrical pump, a condenser and an evaporator coil.
Function
With the aid of the sun, the heater produces warm air, which is blown through the evaporator coil via the device's fan. Next, the evaporator coil's refrigerant collects the heat from the warm air and proceeds to turn it into a gas. The heating pump then moves the newly formed gas into the heater's compressor, where it is heavily heated before traveling to the device's heat exchange condenser. At this point, the heated gas clashes with the cold pool water and proceeds to warm it.
Common Uses
Above ground pool heaters are typically used for residential swimming pools found in cooler climates. Pools found in warmer environments scarcely require the aid of pool heaters, as the hot sun performs their function free of charge. In addition, if you live in an area with particularly hot summers, you are liable to go the entire summer without needing to turn on your above ground pool heater.
