Adjusting Your Vinyl Gutters

Vinyl gutters may take some adjustments over the years, but should last for a long time without any problems.

Adjusting Water Flow

If you have altered the layout or brackets of the guttering system in any way, then the water flow in your gutters is likely altered and not flowing properly.

In addition, the gutters may settle or sag over the years, disrupting the water flow.

If this is a problem for you, use a long screwdriver or an extension bit on a drill with a screwdriver bit and undo the gutter brackets.

Adjust slightly – the rule of thumb is a ¼ drop for every 10 feet of gutter – and then replace the gutter brackets with screws.

Gasket Systems
In vinyl gutters, there are sealing gaskets at the joints. So if there is a problem with water leaking out at unexpected places or not flowing properly past those sections.

If this applies to your gutter system, then take the vinyl joining brackets apart and replace the sealing gaskets.

Keep a Watch
Watch for any sagging, punctures or tears in your vinyl gutters, you should repair them right away. Sagging may be repaired simply by removing debris, or the piece need to be replaced.
