Appraisal

There are many times when you will need an appraisal. If you are planning on refinancing or buying a home, selling or buying a vehicle or even if you need to get jewelry or an antique appraisal for insurance purposes.

Home Appraisal

You will need a home appraisal any time you are refinancing or buying a home. The bank needs to determine your home’s value before deciding if the loan you are requesting is feasible. For home improvement loans, the loan company will take in to consideration the work that is going to be done for the appraisal on refinancing.

Auto Appraisal

You will need an appraisal for any purchase of a vehicle that will be financed. If you are selling your vehicle, an appraisal is a great way to find out what price to sell it for.

Jewelry or Antique Appraisal

Insurance companies sometimes require you to get an appraisal of large dollar items such as jewelry or antiques before they will include them in your coverage.

For an accurate estimate, you need to find a professional appraiser - auto, jewelry, home.

But in many cases, you just want to know the ballpark value, and there are many do-it-yourself tools on the internet. For small products, search ebay.com or craigslist.org and see what people are getting for similar products. For cars, there are plenty of sites, but I have had great experience with edmunds.com. For homes, try a site like zillow.com or estimike.com.
