Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, welcome to the Big Top. Don't leave your seat, because you don't want to miss the ferocious animals, breath-taking stunts and daring feats or the silly antics of the clowns. That's right, the circus has arrived in Baltimore. Actually, three circus events are happening now in Baltimore, giving your family plenty of opportunities to catch all the amazing shows. Nowhere else will you find the fun, excitement and splendor of the circus come to life in so many different ways.
Opening first in ring 1 is "A Circus Family: Picasso to Leger." This exhibition of more than 80 paintings, prints, drawings and books at The Baltimore Museum of Art runs Feb. 22 to May 17. See daring feats, exotic acts and colorful circus characters through the eyes of Pablo Picasso, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Fernand Leger and other European artists. Through their work, view the artists' fascination with the extravagant spectacle of the circus and the bohemian lives of the performers outside of the ring.
Up next in ring 2 is Cirque du Soleil's KOOZA, running from March 12 to April 5 next to the M&T Bank Stadium. Appropriate for adults and families with older children KOOZA highlights physical demands on the body telling the story of "The Innocent," a melancholy loner in search of his place in the world.
And to round out the circus theme in ring 3 is Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey's "Over the Top" performance running from March 25 to April 5 at 1st Mariner Arena. Perfect for families, this high energy show has dogs flying, Asian elephants stomping, hopping and grooving and Bengal tigers dancing.
