Afford your education with a $10,000 scholarship

Afford your education with a $10,000 scholarship Going back to school to get a degree, a second degree or an advanced degree is popular these days as nationwide unemployment levels climb and competition to find a job is fierce.

America's unemployment levels reached 8.5 percent earlier this year, and national experts have predicted in news reports that the levels could go higher yet.

But the cost of tuition can deter many potential students, and if you're one of them, you may have additional concerns about paying back loans in this economy once you've graduated.

Semester costs for online college programs range between $300 to $500 per credit hour, and if you're pursuing a 4-year degree, that can add up quickly.

Finding an online educational program is an option to help you keep tuition costs down and even continue working.

Which means you're searching for grants and scholarships to make the price of tuition just a little more affordable. Hundreds of options are available for students going directly from high school into college, but for returning students it's harder to find scholarships and grants.

Scholarship Zone is taking registrants for its next $10,000 scholarship drawing. Since 2005, Scholarship Zone has been giving away $10,000 scholarships through partnerships with several collages and universities.

To register, visit www.scholarshipzone.com, fill out the short form asking for your name and address, view the educational offers and either ask for information or simply click "next school."

"I will be able to buy a better laptop to do my homework, and I can pay off some of my school loans," says Sharonne Hillman of Pudacah, Ky., who received a 2008 $10,000 scholarship. "Not to mention, once I graduate, I will get a promotion at work."

Time is running out to register for the next $10,000 scholarship drawing. Go to www.scholarshipzone.com before May 15, complete the short registration form and get ready to enroll in your first class. Copyright ©, ARAnet, Inc.
