Current Economy Causes Car Insurance Rates to Drop With gas prices hovering around $4 a gallon, the cost of driving is taking a toll on American's pocketbooks. But one positive is emerging from our nation's current economic status: car insurance rates are dropping.

"With gas prices up, people are driving less and slower to conserve gas, therefore getting into fewer accidents. This allows the insurance companies to channel more dollars to advertising and then provide better deals to customers, it's all about new customer acquisition" says Carl Lammers, a former insurance executive and cofounder of SaveTodayAutoInsurance.com. "This is the perfect time to shop for car insurance because you're more likely to save. The easiest and smartest way to do so is to shop on the Internet."

According to a recent study, auto insurance shoppers agree with Lammers and more and more are heading to the Internet to get quotes. "The 2008 Online Automobile Insurance Report" from comScore, an online research organization, shows an increasing number of people are researching auto insurance online. Additionally, the number of people purchasing their car insurance policy via the Internet has increased as well.

"People are changing the way they shop for car insurance," says Lammers. "Shopping online is an easy way for people to learn their car insurance options quickly. By comparing quotes, people can save hundreds of dollars."

Learning your car insurance options is simple. Start by visiting www.SaveTodayAutoInsurance.com. Once on the site, fill out a short form about your car insurance needs. It takes less than 5 minutes and is totally free. Once you complete the form, your information is distributed to 5 local insurance agents who will research quotes from leading companies. These independent agents don't work for any one car insurance company and have no obligation to make sales for a particular company. They are simply motivated to get you the best deal they can based on your needs and profile.

The agents quickly collect their quotes and they immediately call you to review the deals they found. The agents you work with are in your area and all work with highly reputable, top-rated insurance providers such as Geico, Esurance, Travelers, Progressive, Allstate and State Farm. They are trained to provide personalized service and can answer any questions you have regarding your policy and the quotes you receive.
