The Smart Way to Lose Weight Are you frustrated by a lack of progress in your weight loss campaign?  If so, you're not alone.  A lot of people feel that way; but don't give up - take the time to figure out what it takes to shed pounds.

"It's simple really.  Exercise, eat right and take supplements that will provide your body with the nutrients you need but can't get from food," says Dr. Gary Evans, a research biochemist who formulated many of the weight loss supplements for BioActive Nutrients, Inc., a Spooner, Wisc., company that has been in the business of helping people live healthier lifestyles since 1995.

Evans has been studying the means by which people gain and lose weight for a lot longer than that - decades in fact.  He used to work for the U.S.D.A., and during his tenure there, made a remarkable realization.

He discovered a form of chromium (a trace mineral) that is used by the body to not only make insulin work more efficiently, but when in high enough concentrations, to allow the body to use fat for energy, and store that energy as lean muscle mass. Chromium picolinate is chromium chemically combined with picolinate.  It has consistently outperformed other forms of chromium in levels of absorption and is on the FDA G.R.A.S. (generally recognized as safe) list.

"Our own government recommends that people get 130 micrograms of chromium a day, but that's impossible through food alone," says Dr. Evans.  A USDA analysis of a "super-nutritious diet" found it supplied a mere 24mcg of chromium per 1,000 calories.

Intrigued by the promise the discovery held, Evans teamed up with BioActive Nutrients to develop a supplement called C2, that would deliver 250 micrograms of chromium picolinate and 250 milligrams of L-carnitine per capsule. "L-carnitine is an amino acid produced in the body, however, like chromium picolinate, it is in insufficient amounts. The l-carnitine pushes the fat past the cell wall into the mitochondria where the fat can get burned. These two supplements combined help to increase glucose metabolism and release energy from fat, reducing fat accumulation over a period of time."

C2 is great for getting rid of fat, but Dr. Evans says it is even more effective when taken with Tonalin CLA, a diet supplement that helps increase the rate of fat metabolism, positively affecting the amount of fat that is stored.  "Because your body also needs a good supply of antioxidants to make sure the insulin works well, I recommend people accompany the weight loss supplements with a multi-vitamin like BioPLUS," says Dr. Evans.  BioPLUS contains all the vitamins your body needs - A through Zinc, as well as minerals and trace elements.

BioActive Nutrients makes it easy for people to work all three pieces of the weight loss equation into their daily lives.  You can purchase the Fat Away Pack, which contains one bottle of C2, two bottles of CLA and a bottle of BioPLUS multivitamins, right through the company's web site, www.bioactivenutrients.com.  For a limited time, you can save 40 percent on the package by clicking here.
