Your Favorite Holiday Recipe Could Earn You $5,000

Your Favorite Holiday Recipe Could Earn You $5,000 Deadline Nearing for Athens Foods Mini Fillo Shells Holiday Recipe Contest

Food, whether it involves family favorites or exciting new creations, is a big part of the holiday season. As you plan your menus for family dinners and festive holiday parties this season, think about recipes you can enter in Athens Foods' Mini Fillo Shells Holiday Recipe Contest, which features a $5,000 Grand Prize.

Athens is looking for entries in two categories, appetizers and desserts. If you have a fabulous recipe in one of those categories, this is a great way to share it - and possibly be rewarded. In the spirit of the season, why not encourage your friends and family members to enter their best recipes, too? Mailed entries must be postmarked by Dec. 29, 2006 and online entries must be received by midnight EST on Dec. 29, 2006.

There will be one $5,000 Grand Prize winner and two $1,000 First Prize winners, one for each of the two recipe categories. Winners will be announced on or before March 1, 2007 and winners' names and recipes will appear on the Athens Foods Web site at www.athens.com.

"The holidays are a perfect time to bring old and new traditions into the spotlight," states Athens Foods chairman, Eric Moscahlaidis.  "This recipe contest is a fun and festive way for Athens Foods to show our appreciation for, and celebrate with, fillo lovers across the country."

All entries must be original and include one package (15-count) of Athens traditional Mini Fillo Shells as an ingredient, which can be found at your local grocery store. There is no cost to enter the contest and no limit to the number of recipes you may enter.  Entry forms, including online entries, complete contest rules and more information are available at www.athens.com/recipecontest.
