Arbor

An arbor helps hold up your tools and keeps them organized. Using arbors will help your tools last longer by keeping them out of water and dirt. They will usually attach right into a peg board and can be moved around to accommodate large or small tools. You can either buy an arbor from a store or make them yourself.

  • Find a long, thick screw with a nut that is able to fit through your pegboard. This can be used as a substitute to a real arbor you can purchase at a hardware store.
  • Place the screw through the pegboard with the head on the backside. Thread on the nut until the screw is sturdy and does not shift around.
  • Hang your tools on your home-made arbor.

How to Organize Your Tools with an Arbor

If you have a lot of tools you will have to organize each arbor so you have room for them all. Use a sheet of paper to plan out where you want your tools to go. Begin with your largest tools and work down to the smallest. Some tools will require two or three arbors to support it. Sometimes you can use a long arbor to hold many small tools.
