Are Home Theater Ceiling Speakers A Bad Choice?

When planning your home theater, ceiling speakers are always an option. But are they the right choice for you?  Depending on your needs, ceiling speakers can be the perfect complement to your home theater.  But there are a few things you will need to consider before deciding whether or not home theatre ceiling speakers are a good or bad choice for you.

Lack of Space

If space is an issue for you, then in ceiling speaker may be the right choice.  They take up no floor space and won’t clutter up a room.

Sound Quality

If you are looking for a high tech sound system, then home theater ceiling speakers may not be the best choice for you. While they do produce solid sound, you will not get the deep, driving bass that you do with floor speakers.  It can also take some time to get used to sound coming down on you rather that from the sides.

Speaker Maintenance

Home theater ceiling speakers are harder to fix than floor models, because of the fact that they are installed in your ceiling and quite often have to be removed to be serviced.  This can add more to the repair cost.
