Bagless Vacuum Pros and Cons
A bagless vacuum uses a filter to remove the dirt particles in the air sucked in by a vacuum cleaner. The dirt and debris are then collected in a container, typically a cup or a chamber that must be periodically emptied. The filters used in bagless vacuum cleaners can be disposable or reusable, depending on the make and type of vacuum cleaner. In comparison, other vacuum cleaners use bags made of paper or cloth to collect the dirt.
Bagless Vacuum Cleaner Pros
With a bagless vacuum cleaner, you do not have to remind yourself about the right time to change the bag. In a bagged vacuum cleaner, the bag must be replaced before it is completely full. If you forget to replace the bag, it can cause functional problems, and also affect the working of the machine because the dirt will block the air flow.
If you use reusable filters in your bagless vacuum cleaner, it is more economical in the long run. You do not have to purchase bags and replace them after a few cleaning sessions.
The dirt in the cup or container is usually in clear view, so you can actually see the vacuum cleaner doing its job. You can monitor the effectiveness of the cleaning process. Also, it is easier to tell when it is time forthe dirt to be emptied out.
When you empty out the dirt, you can see what is going in the trash. If a small item of value was accidentally sucked in by the vacuum, you can retrieve it. Bagged vacuum cleaners, on the other hand, do not offer this convenience as you just remove the bag and dispose it of without opening and inspecting it.
You also do not have to worry about finding the right type of bag that will fit inside your vacuum cleaner.
Bagless Vacuum Cleaner Cons
Clearing out a bagless vacuum cleaner is a messy job. The dust and dirt billows all over when you take out the container and empty it into the trash bin. In contrast, bagged vacuum cleaners offer a quick and easy way of disposing of the refuse. The dust is held within the bag as you remove it and throw it out.
Bagless vacuum cleaners may contain disposable or reusable filters. Though the reusable, washable filters are an economical option, the cost of disposable filters is quite high as compared to vacuum bags. So if you use disposable filters in your bagless vacuum cleaner, you may end up spending more than you would is you had to restock vacuum cleaner bags.
If you use reusable filters, you must clean them often to prevent clogging and suction problems. This is not required with the use of bagged vacuum cleaners, where all you have to do is take out the bag and dispose it of. Some bags also have tape on the opening, so you can seal the bag as you throw it out.
It is not advisable to empty bagless vacuum cleaners indoors, as most of the finer dust particles will end up in the air again.
