Environmentally sound wood
Bamboo hardwood floors are a great alternative to traditional woods used for hardwood flooring. That’s because bamboo is not technically a tree, but instead a grass. That it is exceptionally hard is the reason bamboo has been utilized for so many purposes over history. Its use as a hardwood floor material is a great use and alternative to maple and oak. But just because it is as hard as other woods does not mean that it is a perfect flooring option. It is just as susceptible to dents and scratches as other woods are.
Imported wood
Bamboo is not grown domestically. Therefore, if one is thinking of installing bamboo hardwood floors then one should consider that the majority of bamboo is imported from China, and other foreign nations. If supporting local economies is an important factor in your decision, then this should be considered.
