Bathroom Tile Patterns Gone Wild

by DoItYourself Staff

With such a variety in bathroom tile patterns available, it’s easy to put a personalized touch on your bathroom remodel.

You can use tile on the bathroom floor, of course, but with some creative thought, you can use tile around a tub, as an accent around a mirror or towel bar, or as a decorative accent on the wall.

Dramatic Piece

For a dramatic bathroom look when you have the cash, try a one-piece solid granite floor. You’ll need to look around for an installer with the expertise to put it in.

Shower Accent Strips

Try an accent strip at about eye level in your shower for a decorative and beautiful look. Use smaller tiles in contrasting and complementary colors to your main background tiles. This strip can be created in a random or repeating pattern.

Border Strips

An alternative is to use colorful decorated border strips. There are beautiful and striking patterns available. A bright yellow, green or blue tile featuring floral and natural designs on a solid white background is a great look. Trim the tub, border the mirror, or use two parallel strips to create your own visual interest around the tub.

Visual Interest

Use many different sizes in the same color tile to create an interesting and striking look.
