Mustard for Your Picnic

Mustard for Your Picnic

Here's an easy bbq mustard sauce for your barbecues.

The Ingredients:

  • 1 cup strong yellow mustard
  • 1 cup cider vinegar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground red pepper
  • 1 heaping tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger.

Simmer it all for a quarter-hour at medium heat, then use as a baste or marinade.

For a cooling antidote to its heat, make a quick cucumber salad. First peel a cucumber and slice it into very thin rounds. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and give them a few minutes to soak in. Then add a couple of tablespoons of yogurt and some fresh dill. Chill and serve.
