Benefits of a Water Vacuum

A water vacuum is better known as a wet and dry vacuum machine. Many people find this type of vacuum very useful for many reasons. Those who like to work outside, have a garage where they work on cars or people that live in areas of a lot of rainfall often purchase one. This article will go over several benefits of owning a water vacuum.

Benefit 1 - Problems with Flooding

This is an issue that many people have to deal with when living in areas subject to a lot of rain. If you have a basement and there is a drainage issue, then water can easily find a way to soak your floor. There is not much that you can do when this happens because paper towels will not be able to clean it up and mopping will take a lot of time.

The same idea can apply to a sink or tub that overflows. A water vacuum is the cure for either of these situations. Unlike traditional vacuum cleaners, the water vacuum is powerful enough to suck up water. A powerful vacuum sits on top of an empty drum and when you vacuum the water it enters the drum for easy disposal.

Benefit 2 - Gasoline and Oil Spills

Many professional garages and gas stations have a water vacuum. When an accident occurs which leads to gasoline, kerosene or oil being spilled you need a way to clean it up quickly. The old method was putting down a layer of sand or cat litter to soak up the gas or oil and then sweep it up with a broom and dust pan. Although you do not have to, it is still a good idea to thrown litter or sand on top of any spill. After a few minutes you can use the water vacuum to suck the sand or litter up off the ground.

Benefit 3 - Easy Maintenance

There is not much that can go wrong on the water vacuum. The unit consists of a powerful suction device and a drum. Maintenance on a water vacuum consists of cleaning the drum and the filter.

Benefit 4 - No More Paper Towels or Ruined Rags

The water vacuum can pick up more than just large amounts of water or industrial chemicals. There are several sizes of water vacuums that you can purchase that are perfect for those small home spills. If you knock over a glass of milk, spill a bottle of soda or overflow the sink you can use the water vacuum to clean it up. Using a small water vacuum can prevent excess spending on paper towels and rags.

Benefit 5 - Cost Effective

Traditional vacuum cleaners can cost several hundred dollars, but a water vacuum can cost far less. If your house consists primarily of hardwood floors, tile or vinyl then you may never need to purchase a traditional vacuum cleaner. A water vacuum can cost as low as $20.00 or as much as $300.00 and up for commercial versions while still being able to pick up dirt, hair and other heavier debris like gravel and stone.
