Brazilian Cherry Floors

If you are in the market for hardwood flooring, you might want to consider installing Brazilian cherry floors. It has proven durability and its beauty will enhance any room for years to come.

Characteristics of Brazilian cherry floors

Brazilian cherry, like most woods can be purchased finished or unfinished. Personal preference and budget will dictate what you decide upon. Brazilian cherry is a very heavy wood and hard to cut. It ranges in coloring and shadowing. The color of Brazilian cherry floors can be pink, light brown, dark orange, or deep reddish brown. Some will have characteristic dark brown or black streaks.

Advantages of Brazilian cherry floors

All hardwood floors require upkeep to maintain their beauty and durability. Brazilian cherry floors are much thicker than most other hardwood choices by at least 200 percent, therefore capable of handling a lot more sanding, when the need arises.  Also, the thicker a wood, the more energy efficient it is, for obvious reasons. Most hardwood floors are installed with a base floor, to help them remain even and providing a buffer helping with energy consumption. Brazilian cherry can also be used for rafters, beams, door frames, floorboards and furniture.
