Burn Copies of Wedding Videos with Background Music
A wedding is the event of a lifetime, and a wedding video is a great way to capture the romance and excitement of your special day. Digital video has made it possible to not only burn as many copies of your wedding video to DVD as needed, but also allow for more personal touches such as the addition of background music.
Choosing a Video Editor
To make any changes to your wedding video you will first need a video editing program on your computer. There are a number of editing programs available to purchase that come in a wide range of prices and complexity. As well, most computers already come preloaded with free video editing software. For the price and simplicity, this is a good option.
Pick the Right Music
Picking the right music for your wedding video sets the entire emotional context. Take the time and choose your music carefully. Traditionally on a wedding video, soft, romantic music is used at the beginning and during the vows. Later, during scenes of the reception, music with an upbeat tempo will create a more exciting and fun mood.
Caution must be taken for any music used in a wedding video. Music is protected by copyright. Even if your wedding video is only going to be seen by family and friends, using your favorite music without the proper licensing is illegal. Traditional music, such as hymns are usually not subject to copyright. Consider using royalty-free music. Not only will you avoid any copyright infringement issues, but it is also an excellent source of music that will fit any budget.
Editing Your Video
Each video editor is unique. But all use the same basic steps to get started.
- Import video.
- Import music.
- Open files in software.
- Click and drag video and music to timeline.
You will have two editing tracks in your timeline, a video track and an audio/music track. Your music track must be the same length as your video. If your music goes longer than your video, start lowering the volume about ten seconds before the end. For a more professional touch, have the music end about two seconds after the video ends and goes to black.
Your original video will have ambient, or natural audio. This is the sound that was recorded by the video camera's microphone during your wedding. This natural audio moves the story of your wedding video from beginning to end. Your background music's volume will need to be lowered during important speeches and the wedding vows so it doesn't drown out the words.
Exporting and Burning Your Video
Once you are satisfied with your final project, name your file, render and save it. Follow the directions of your editor to save your file in a video format that will be recognized by your DVD burner. You are now ready to burn multiple DVDs of your wedding video. With just a little time, imagination and the addition of music, your wedding video has now become something you will treasure for many years to come.
