Can I use latex paint through a spray gun?

In applying latex paint, you will be able, under certain conditions, to use a spray gun. Try thinning the paint before spraying it. Some paint manufacturers print on their container the thinning ratio they recommend for their paint.

If the paint you plan to use does not offer thinning ratio guidelines, try using a ratio of 10 parts paint to 1 part water. Then, blend this mixture.

Spray a trial area. If, on your sprayed surface, you find that your paint is running, add more paint to the blend. Clogging of your nozzle will indicate your paint blend needs to be thinned.
