Childproof an Indoor Jacuzzi in 5 Steps
An indoor jacuzzi is a wonderful way to relax but it’s still a dangerous body of water for a child. Therefore, it’s important to take steps to protect your loved ones and childproof your indoor jacuzzi.
Step 1 – Buy a Locking Cover
Invest in a childproof safety cover that locks. This is the surest barrier since locks detour curious children, as well as the fact that a solid jacuzzi cover can support the weight of an adult let alone a child if climbed on.
Step 2 - Buy a Second Lock
Have a back up lock just in case the primary one lets you down. Creating several backup plans to ensure you’re child can’t gain access is always a good idea.
Step 3 – Secure the Room
Make sure the door of the room your Jacuzzi is in has a lock. You can invest in a motion sensor and alarm inside the room just incase your lock should fail.
Step 4 – Teach Your Child to Swim
Teach your child how to swim as soon as possible. This will enable them to have a better chance of avoiding harm should they find themselves at risk.
Step 5 – Talk to Your Child
Educate your child about the potential dangers of a jacuzzi. Teach them a healthy respect for the hazards of hot water.
