Nogging Out

Nogging Out

There's nothing like egg nog to help spice up a Christmas party. Here's a recipe do-it-yourselfers can try. This should make enough for all of your guests.

Ingredients

  • 1 dozen egg yolks
  • 1 pound of confectioners sugar
  • 2 quarts of whipping cream
  • 1 dozen egg whites
  • 6 cups Southern Comfort (for adults only)
  • Nutmeg (optional)

1. In a bowl, beat the egg yolks and mix in the pound of sugar. Cover up the mixture and let it sit for an hour.

2. Add the two quarts of whipping cream to the mixture. Refrigerate for three hours.

3. Beat the dozen egg whites until stiff and add to the mixture.

4. Put the egg nog into a pitcher and refrigerate.

5. If you are making an adult egg nog, add two cups of Southern Comfort to the mix along with the sugar. Add four more cups when you add the egg whites.

6. When you serve your egg nog, top it with a touch of nutmeg for an extra flavor. Enjoy!
