Cleaning Kitchen Island Carts

by DoItYourself Staff

Cleaning a kitchen island cart is an important part of the daily sanitizing of your kitchen work areas. Use natural cleansers that contain no toxic ingredients to harm either your surface areas or people using your kitchen. There are quite a few advantages to using natural cleansers for kitchen cleaning.

You Already Have Some

You already have many natural cleansers you can use to clean and sanitize your kitchen island cart. There are three basic ingredients used in natural cleaning that include baking soda and lemons.

Lemon-ize

Lemons contain a citric acid that is a natural anti-bacterial agent. Use it to degrease and eliminate even built-up grime on your kitchen island cutting board by rubbing a half a lemon all over the surface area. Not only does rubbing a lemon clean it quickly, it can also eliminate any lingering odors. Furthermore, lemons can be used to polish up stainless steel areas like sinks.

Baking Soda

Substitute baking soda for all those hyped-up abrasive cleansers that can be expensive. Almost everyone knows the fridge deodorizing trick. Add to its uses the freshening of dish cloths and sponges soaking in two tablespoons mixed with water. Use it as a scrubbing agent on stubborn stains on counters as well as appliances. Shake it out liberally from the box and rub with a damp cloth. Then rinse it away with warm water.

Squeezed out lemons can also make great cleansing tools for the tips of metal utensils.
