Cleaning Rubber Flooring Tiles

by DoItYourself Staff

what you'll need

  • A broom
  • A vacuum
  • A bucket
  • Water
  • Liquid detergent
  • A sponge
  • Cleaning cloths

Rubber flooring tiles are easy and simple to clean. You can use household items you will find in your kitchen cupboards to clean the tiles. Regular cleaning will keep the tiles looking new.

Step 1 – Removing Dust and Dirt

Use your broom to sweep away any dirt on the rubber tiles. Continue the process with your vacuum. This step will remove any dust or residue stuck in the rubber tiles.

Step 2 – Mixing a Cleaning Solution

Pour a gallon of warm water into your bucket. Add three squirts of liquid detergent to the water. Mix the solution together until the water is soapy.

Step 3 – Washing the Tiles

Immerse your sponge into the cleaning solution. Squeeze any excess liquid out of the sponge. Use the sponge to wash your rubber tiles. Empty the bucket when you are finished washing the tiles. Clean any dirt and debris from the bucket and the sponge.

Step 4 – Rinsing the Tiles

Pour a gallon of cool, clear water to your bucket. Immerse your sponge into the water and then squeeze out the excess water. Use the sponge to rinse the tiles. Buff the rubber floor tiles dry with your cleaning cloths.
